After our last discussion my events still dont work. I do not get the circular event build up under the event tabs but when I look at the individual events. all of them will say that the next scheduled event is the next day and the last event never occurred.
I am nearing 50 days since castle events have worked for me.
Tomorrow I will message you my files so you can look at them.
Thanks again for your help!

Large House Voice Control - 10+ Kinects

Correct about the PCI card. This is really targeted more at a larger chassis, for instance a rack mounted server chassis or a tall tower. You can get a few PC cards in there.

An alternative is the new stick PCs, plugged into TVs in various rooms.

In terms of integration together, each of them is ultimately assigned as a zone for voice control, and they all talk back to the CastleOS Core Service for command and control of the system.

Great. So if I went the mini PC route, how would they all integrate together?

When you say USB bus, you mean something like this? https://www.startech.com/support/PEXUSB3S2E2I
PCIe slots are limited, and I think only 1 port could be used on each device, correct? Is there a way to get a single card that can support two or more Kinects, or a way to do this with active powered USB hubs?

Thank you!

I am having trouble finding a voice control solution that will scale to a large home, but I think CastleOS might work. I am thinking of having 10 or 11 Kinects ceiling mounted throuout the house using USB over CAT6 run to the home server. Has anyone else done a similer implentation?

To add a light to a group, edit the light, there are three groups you can add it to. Devices > Menu > Edit Device or Settings > Edit Device.

I'm not sure why the light event wouldn't be working as before unless something else changed? No matter how you adjust the lights, the API will report on/off/dim accordingly the same way. So the only reason the event wouldn't trigger is if the condition prevented it, or if the API didn't say the light status changed. In Settings > Menu > View Logs, you can see if the system is running the event. That will tell you if it's running and not working, or not running at all.

I removed the 2nd condition of '' or '' with 1100pm to 1159pm as it was not working.

just now I was testing it and is not turning the light off, only if I try to turn the light On from castle os then it recognize the event and turn it off immediately.
but if I turn the light on from the wall, homekit or hue app is not working like before.

I have another question I cannot find how to add light to a group.
under edit it dont give me the choice to add them.

Regarding the user interface (UI) in the web browser, this doesn't need to be open for CastleOS to run. That is just the front end, CastleOS' backend starts when the computer starts and runs in the background.

thanks for that, I was wondering why it was not opening in internet explorer, but like you say is running in the background I saw it in task manager.

I have also created a device group "ZRTSI Integration" that contains all of the devices associated with this issue. (4 sets of shades, 2 awnings, and the ZRTSI hub.) Feel free to play with it weekdays between the hours of noon and 6pm Boston time.

Ah yes, I have it here in my notes. It's only happening in home mode because that event only runs in home mode. If you shut down CastleOS and send me your configuration.xml file, I can manually fix it for you.

Can we do a remote troubleshoot so I can see this live? Not having one of the devices I'm unfortunately limited in being able to test it here...

Nope, same event is correct. Can you send a screenshot of your event settings as they currently are?

You did a work around on this the last time and told me on the next release you would include it. Every hour that my event checks to see if its 79 degrees so it can turn on the living room fan it adds an event to the events tab. I have a few hundred of them listed. It looks like I added the lame event a few hundred times.

Hi Tim, I don't understand what you mean by adding Events? CastleOS can't add events on it's own, it would have to be inputted either through the GUI or through the API. What happens when you clear out the extraneous events?

Well..... last night after our session castleOS did not automatically operate my door locks as per the event planned. I logged on and went to the event tab and saw that the event that you worked with before with me had begun its circular repeating again.
If you recall it was using ALL of my CPU and for some reason adding events for living room fan if 77 degrees, at 9AM checking every hour to see if it was 77 degrees.
I need this to go away again, obviously so I can use CastleOS.

after I added the '' or '' time condition it seem that now is not turning the light off anymore. I added it to the same event.
or it have to be a completely new event?

I looked at the setting and it show automatically, question so it don't have to be actively open in the Internet Explorer windows for it to work?
because when I hard restart the computer the Internet explorer don't auto open.

I was able to change the tts.

Thanks.

Just add that as a condition, but instead of "and", make it "or".

CastleOS should be set to power on automatically, but you can change this in Windows Start Menu > Services > CastleOSCoreService (right click, select properties, then adjust the startup settings).

The TTS announcement can be changed by clicking the icon next to the announcement in Actions in the Event (during add or edit event). A box will pop up that you can change the TTS message.

The system will ding when it hears you, or verbally reply without a ding, depending on the command you give it.

that explain, I removed the one from 11 to midnight and now is turning the light Off almost instantly. super!
so would I have to create a second one but this time from 11pm to 1159pm?

also how do I setup castle os to come back on after a power outage.
the computer is already setup this way but castle os don't auto launch.
windows 10.

I use this same topic to ask:
1. how do I change the tts announcement, I would like it to say the name of the device, on off, custom text.
2. is there anyway to know if the system hear you, like Yes sir... etc.

ty.
