I'm trying this device out but not detecting properly. http://products.z-wavealliance.org/products/2130Here is what I have done: 1) CastleOS Settings->Zwave->Add Device 2) Double-Click Quad wallmote's Action button (Inclusion using security) Wallmote's LED goes to blinking Orange 3) After a few minutes Orange blinking ceases, and goes off (I think this means inclusion successful) Check CastleOS logs: 3:10:53 Z-Wave Controller Entering Inclusion Mode 3:11:08 Wall Controller:4 is a multichannel device. Querying channels... 3:11:08 Z-Wave Controller Linked to Device: Wall Controller:4 3:11:08 Z-Wave Controller has Exited Inclusion Mode 3:11:12 Received End Point Report:4 Under CastleOS Devices->ZWave Shows up as Wall Controller:4 and has an On/Off button for each of the 4 channels. (i.e. CastleOS thinks the Quad-Mote is a device that CastleOS can turn on/off) I was hoping to use wallmote at least as an on/off button for CastleOS to use to control some other device, and was hopeful it could also be used as a dimmer (finger sliding across the button). Any recommendations? edited by TommyLong on 5/24/2017

Chris, do you know if it would be a major software effort to support this, or is it a simple fix?

Hi Tommy, have you tested the device triggers to see if it will work? It looks like it's being detected property and it should work as you expect with events. The dimmer I have to test (I do have one here for testing) as I'm not sure off the top of my head. But in prior tests the on/off triggers worked as expected.
Despite showing the on/off switch in the GUI, that will have no effect as you mentioned.
Thanks!

Thanks for getting back Some success. If I select the trigger based on Wallmote->Channel->Channel 1->Turns On, then it does not trigger. If I select the trigger based on Wallmote->Turns On/Activates, then it does trigger. Doesn't matter which of the 4 buttons I press. The Log shows Updated status of Wall Controller:4(Z-Wave Devices) to 100. As you can see it is not reporting any particular channel.

Do you know if there is a way to get each of the 4 buttons to be treated as 4 independent buttons, i.e. as 4 separate channels? For now, CastleOS is treating the 4 buttons as if they were one-and-the-same.

Hi Tommy, this is fixed with this week's coming update. You'll be able to use the on/off functions of each button on the Wallmote as even triggers, and see each channel update. The dimmer functions will have no effect on CastleOS, as those are meant for direct linking to lights instead. Thanks!!

Hi Chris, I'm running 1.3.3210. The Event Triggers are not working properly.
According to the Logs, when I tap upper left button, CoS gets two updates: one from channel 1, another from the wallmote itself. Channel 1 updates toggle between 0 and 100 when I repeat the tapping of the upper left button. The Wallmote status of itself toggles between 0 and 100 when repeat the tapping of any of the buttons. This appears to be expected behavior.
I have two Events configured: 1) configured for wallmote's channel 1 turning off After saving, the Event is shown in the GUI as:
Wall Controller:4 turns on 2 2) Configured for wallmote's channel 1 turning on After saving, the Event is shown in the GUI as:
Wall Controller:4 turns on 0
The Logs are revealing that When I tap channel 1, that it runs both of these two events When I tap channel 2, it also runs both of these events edited by TommyLong on 9/25/2017

Hi Chris,
I am testing 1.3.3301 under the same scenario. I) The two events now appear to be saved correctly. II) The running of the Events have different problems this time than before. In the attached Log I press the channel 1 button one time at 3:21:45 Channel 1 reported as 100. Blinds already open; event worked to turn blinds on. Action worked correctly press the channel 1 button one time at 3:22:23 Channel 1 reported as 0. Action worked correctly to turn blinds off press the channel 1 button one time at 3:23:05 Channel 1 reported as 0 (This should have been 100) to turn blinds off. Action worked correctly press the channel 1 button one time at 3:23:47 Channel 1 reported as 100 and as 0. Action turned blinds on and then off resulting in no action.
The Action Wallmote-off is to detect channel 1 going "off" and Action to set the Zwave blinds to 0 The Action Wallmote-on is to detect channel 1 going "on" and Action to set the Zwave blinds to 100
Error Logs are also produced. See attached.

I forgot to mention the first error in the error log was due to CastleOS disabling the Aeotec Zwave stick after upgrade. I re-enabled at the GUI and Zwave started working.

Thanks for the report Tommy. Seems like the original issue was resolved, but there is a second issue with an input's format on some Z-Wave messages. Let me try to recreate this here..

I wanted to provide more input on the problem I am seeing. When tapping the button (in my case channel #1) to "turn on" ("to 100"), it works perfectly. But when I tap the same button again to "turn off" I get different results, but most of the time the result it is beeps and beeps and beeps for about a minute and gives up. When I tap it again, it does "turn off" ("to 0"). The logs are usually silent on what is going on when it beeps and beeps and beeps. Tonight however I got a log that starts "Channel 1 to 0" and then alternates back and forth "Channel 1 to 100" to "Channel 1 to 0" more than 100 times in only a few seconds.

It's possible it didn't detect all four buttons. You can force it to do that manually. Go to Z-Wave Settings, then press Manage Z-Wave Network. Then under Get Node Information, select the Wallmote and press the button to send the request. Then on the wallmote, press and hold the button for three seconds. You can confirm it worked by seeing 4 channels show under the Wallmote in the Devices view. As you press each button on or off it should be reflected in real time on that screen.
