This may not be the right place to post this, but maybe you could help me. How does CastleOS interface with Insteon (or Z-Wave)? Is there a controller that receives the signal from all of the Insteon units and then CastleOS will connect to the controller? I've tried researching it and it just isn't making sense. Thanks for the help.

Thanks for the help. This is the right place! You need to get an interface for whichever protocol you are using, in the case of Insteon, you'll need either the USB Adapter or USB PowerLinc Modem (PLM). Both work, but if you plan to use X10 at all, you must get the PLM.

Thanks, you have no idea how long I've looked for basic info like that. So CastleOS is considered the controller in this case?
And one more question. Will Kinect microphones interface directly with the PC (plug into a USB port)? edited by Optos on 1/23/2013

The Kinects plug in to USB as well, so you'd have Insteon, maybe Z-Wave too, and the Kinect all plugged in to the same computer.
