Hello Chris,
I installed CastleOS on a "blank" windows 10 machine. Only other thing running is Avast. It worked fine yesterday. There was a update which rebooted the machine and now I can't get CastleOS to start. There is no error.xml. This is the 2nd time I've tried CastleOS, after I configure it with my Insteon system and if the machine reboots then CastleOS won't start. Help!! Please.
But, Event Properties says, "Service cannot be started. The service process could not connect to the service controller" Another error was...

Hi Frank, that error is there because it can't connect to the Core Service which must be failing to start. Want to do a remote troubleshooting session? I can log in and help.
Okay. How do we do that? |

I'm having a simular problem, only with the LampLinks. If I issue a direct command twice EX:http://192.168.0.27:25105/3?02622E6E140F1100=I=3 (pause 2 seconds) http://192.168.0.27:25105/3?02622E6E140F1100=I=3. Then the lamp will respond. Can I program CastleOS to do the same thing? |

Sorry, I'm using an Insteon HUB on a "standalone" system that only runs CastleOS and ContaCam (web cam software.) |

Go figure that worked! Thanks! Can I "teach" CastleOS to control a (generic) device like RoboBuddy. It has a "built in" web interface and accepts commands in a similar fashion to Insteon? |

Cool. Last question and I'll stop bugging you. LOL I'd like to have a android tablet by the front door. If the system is set to away, when the front door opens, the front room light turns on and the tablet shows a numeric pad and prompts for a numeric code. if the code is correct (one for 4 codes for different people) then the system status changes to Home and everything functions as it should. If a code is entered after 3 re-tries or a specific numeric code is entered then a text message or email is sent to alert that someone is in the home that shouldn't be. also if 2 minutes expres without a numeric code being entered then text message or email is sent? |

I recently got this issue as well on version 1.3.3135.
Backstory: The Kinect was responding to commands nobody was giving (no-one was even speaking and she literally just kept rambling until i unplugged the kinect) thought somehow the sensitivity got messed up and was going to try and adjust, but configurator would not open. Reinstalled from scratch, still no configurator, still responding when nobody talking.
Installed the last version i had downloaded and was able to access the configurator (also original issue was gone) however this was also the version that uninstalled itself every night at midnight...
Thanks Eric. I tried V2. Nothing happened. Went back to V1, latest version and BOY did she give me a mouthful. Started 3 timers, then cleared 3 timers. Then the Time. Then the temperature. I'll try reverting to an older version of Kinect V1. |

Thanks for the reports, and sorry about this. I'll figure out what's going on and get a fix posted ASAP. This seems to only affect the V1 configurator, not V2. I'm guessing something is missing in the build. Will post an update shortly...
I have 2 umbrella cockatoos, they started yelling at the speaker. LOL (BTW: Ya, they can talk.) They told it to shut up! |

You can on my system. We did this once before. But, I forget how to initiate? |

I have an older Kinect 360. Which is not compatible with windows 10 with the Kinect 1.8 or later SDK. HOWEVER, I found a workaround. You need to download the KinectCam.AX and the Kinect 1.0 Beta 2 from microsoft and the Camera portion works (again.) I currently use ContaCam 5.3.0 (A freeware IP/USB security camera software with motion detection.) Will the "new" CastleOS camera system work with this configuration, considering the the Kinect driver is 1.0 B2? |

It's not a "castleOS" issue persae. It's the video camera associated with the XBox 360 Kinects with Windows 10. Unfortunately, with 1.8 and Windows 10, the camera function no longer works with programs like ContaCam. It would be great to be able to get the full functionality of this device. The fact that it is "old" shouldn't be relevant. Since, CastleOS Kinect updated the driver to SDK 1.8, ContaCam no longer will use the camera function. It's a windows 10 issue not a CastleOS one. |
