I have two z-wave pir sensors. They show up in the z wave devices list. How do I make them show up in the Security heading? Security shows no sensors have been added to CastleOS?

Voice Announcements not working

I have a new install with the latest code. I can set up a voice announcement within an event but when I choose the box with "voice announcement"...I can not change the actual announcement. So all I hear on the speakers is the works Voice Announcement. Same is true with email notification. I can change the subject but the body section will not allow me to edit and all the emails say "New Email Notification" in the body.

I have installed CastleOS in my house and and I am liking it. My shop is a quarter mile from my house I have Ethernet between my shop and house. I would like to alarm and remotely control the heat in my shop. How cool will it be to turn on the heat before I go hang out in the shop on the weekend. I can 1. install another CastleOS in my shop? 2. find a zwave over ethernnet controller and if CastleOS supports it, run two controllers on a single instance of CastleOS. 3. Come up with a better idea? .Any thoughts ????

I don' t know about you but if it were MY remote shop, the first thing I would put on that Ethernet cable would be an AP so I could stream my music! Once that's installed, you can use the Ecobee, Nest or other WiFi t-stat (not all will work with COS) t-stat, and you could use WiFi devices for lighting etc. If that's not a fit, there should be little problem using two Z-Wave hubs, or just about any other protocol - my setup is currently all Insteon.

I already have streaming music piped to the shop smile I have been looking on the web (with no luck so far) for an Ethernet to zwave bridge so I can remote a zwave controller. I looked at a usb over Ethernet but saw mixed reviews on performance. I do not know how COS will deal with two zwave controllers but I am willing to try. I will also explore a different technology at the remote site I was only looking at a zwave solution.

I also have mis configured my admin password. A search does not show a configuration.xml file on my computer. A look in the castleos directory also does not show a configuration.xml file. Has it moved or been renamed in a later build?

There was no link in the message. Please give me device name or a link.
Thanks.

Hi Kent, I think this is what you are looking for, assuming you are looking for a pure ethernet Z-Wave interface and not simply using CastleOS as such. This device isn't supported in the current beta, but it will be later this month.

Likewise two controllers will be supported. The infrastructure is there in the current version but it hasn't been enabled yet.

Please feel free to ask questions and I'll clarify where I can!

Thanks!!!

I lost power to my COS core box. When I turned back on the config screen shows..An error occured loading the castloOS app. Please ensure the Core service is running. etc. etc.. Core service is running. Stopped, restarted nope.... Finally tried to fix via the install....no joy. Removed CastleOS (and my config I suppose) reloaded still the same message when I go to the config screen.

Put together a new computer to run my core service. Download and installed the latest build. Went to put in the License key and when I right click on the New License Key box I can not paste the key. This happened on my old computer too, I just ignored it because I knew I would migrate to a new box before the trial mode ran out. I can select and type in the new key box just can't right click and paste into it.

Were you using the latest beta when this happened? Also, an uninstall actually leaves your config behind. If your config got corrupted during the crash, reinstalling it wouldn't fix it until it's deleted first. You can find the config in C:\ProgramData\CastleOS

I totally built a new version from scratch on a new box. Seems to run well so far.

Multi Zone Kinect Service.

I purchased a small fanless box to run a remote Kinect. It was up working fine for a few days. Today, it was powered up but no voice response. Took box to my office and hooked up different Kinect. Now the config screen shows two Kinects in the multizone settings and neither one work. How do I revert back to the basic Kinect service?

kinect service

I have a wintel pro fanless windows 10 box running a kinect in my livingroom. About every 3 or 4 days it stops responding. Windows 10 shows the the services alive and well, I have all power saving features turned off. A full reboot fixes it, a reload of the CastleOS settings fixes it. Physically disconnect and reconnect of the Kinect usb does not fix it. A stop and restart of the service in windows does not fix it. Same behavior with a different kinect. I'm at a loss????
