Another Bug I've found, for some reason I can't create a scene. I see a couple things in the Error.xml file, and have attached it. Sorry for all the work o: |

Thanks! I tested energy Eye as a replacement for the issue, seemed to work in terms of turning off the devices. I'm also trying a factory reset on the sensor to eliminate any possible conflicts. |

I used one of my motion sensors. I'm testing the sensor that was giving me trouble now to see how that goes. Also, Just put the new fix in place, and was able to successfully create and add a new scene
Lights just turned themselves off, so it appears that using energy eye to shut the lights works perfectly. edited by nikku on 1/7/2013 |

Spoke too soon. Seems the lights were not shutting themselves off this morning, and the system hung. On my way to work now, but I'll try to post logs later.
Also Curious, what would I need to open up in my firewall to allow me to access CastleOS remotely? I assume it is port 80, but I wasn't sure if there was anything else I need to open? edited by nikku on 1/8/2013

I'd be very interested in this! I'm curious what the api allows for control and interaction between custom programs/services |

Any word/details on the API, or is this something we need to wait for in a later release? Was also wondering if there will be any scripting support? |

Conditional Event Triggers Based on Other Events?
Nick Bento
|
Hey there! Not sure if this is just me not knowing how to make this happen, or if it's a feature that could be added, but here it goes: I have a certain event that turns on all the lights in my room upon entering (IE, if all the lights are off, and the room door is opened, all the lights are turned on). However, this clashes with another scene I have; if I set a "bed mode" scene, which shuts off all the lights, if the girlfriend happens to get up in the middle of the night to get a glass of water, naturally all the lights turn on when she opens the door. Is there any way to make it so when a particular scene is set, it could potentially disable another scene from running until it is changed? (If this sounds at all confusing please forgive me, I guess the set-up is kinda weird :S) |

Conditional Event Triggers Based on Other Events?

I ended up using one of my sensors to solve it I have it so if it detects movement in front of the door (from inside the room) then it will not trigger the All Lights On Event, as it would assume someone is leaving, not entering, the room, and that the room is previously occupied (and therefore the lights were either already turned on, or another scene is likely in effect ) |

No energy Usage Statistics for Devices
Nick Bento

Hey Chris, Not sure if you remember before when I mentioned I wasn't seeing any device energy usage statistics, but I gave it a while just in case i simply didn't have any data for it to show. Unfortunately it's still blank; I've attached a screenshot below to show what I am seeing. I'm at work at the moment, but if you need logs I can send them right when I get back (or I can send a screenshot of my logs screen since I have access to the webpages still)
Thanks! |

Appears I'm still getting the same blank screen, even though data appears to be populated. I've attached the log. |

Not seeing anything weird in the event viewer. Error log is fairly barren too, just one error. I've attached it. Is it possible the DB got erased during reinstall? Also, as far as security settings go everything should be default; I didn't change anything from the base install or any directory permissions that I am aware of. edited by nikku on 2/6/2013 edited by nikku on 2/6/2013 |

I installed it around 5PM or so, and had it running for a couple hours, turning lights on and off periodically. |

I let it run for a day or two, still the same it seems. Are there any kind of file permissions I should verify? (I know you mentioned permissions, I don't think anything should have changed that would affect it, but can't hurt to check) |

From what I see, Administrators and System have full read/write, and Users has read only. When I check the logs via the web interface I see quite a few entries in the Energy Use area, not sure if this helps? |

New House - Thinking about CastleOS

I've been mulling this one over as well. Ideally what I was trying to do is have it much like a market would be with music; Music is playing, but when they make an announcement it momentarily pauses/mutes the music, then once the announcement is done it resumes. I'm thinking some kind of hardware mixer would be needed to accomplish this (or clever windows software to mix between two sound cards), still haven't come up with anything yet though. |

Dimmable Groups?
Nick Bento
|
Not sure if this is an error on my part or an actual feature to add: I notice that I'm not able to actually select a dim level for groups which contain all dimmable lights; so if I have a group of 5 lights that are all dimmable, and wish to set them all to 30%, I have to go through each device to do this (or in the case of an event, add each device and set the brightness level), instead of adding the group and setting the dim level. |
