I've been looking at those closely since they've been announced. It's USB 2.0 only this version, so Kinect 2.0 is out, but you're right, this is pretty killer! It will be $150 retail, but that's less expensive than our previous option at about $230. And obviously much more compact. I'm going to get one ASAP to test performance out...
I think I am as well. It solves a few problems with logistics. Let me know where you end up getting yours, and Ill get one there as well. |

This is a great idea! And pretty straightforward on our end to implement. Consider it done
As for the more detailed instructions, it's in progress. And we've made progress recently too. Check out our new Feature Spotlight page: http://www.castleos.com/FeatureSpotlight.aspx
Going to be constantly evolving, and we'll have a full user guide as well in a few weeks.
Thanks again for the great suggestion!
Thats great news! Consider stuff like:
"Computer, schedule the TV off in the living room in 30 minutes" "Computer, schedule the lawn watered for 15 minutes." "Computer, schedule the house to be secured at 10pm" "Computer, what schedules are currently active?"
as not to conflict with "timers". Or whatever. edited by mltechz on 1/10/2015 |

Am I understanding correctly that for CastleOS to control my Sonos speakers, all the speakers need to be connected to Ethernet (thus diminishing their appeal as wireless speakers?). Sorry if that sounds harsh, but ever since the Bose Jewel Cube days of my brand new Bose Lifestyle 35 system I was longing for a wireless speaker solution so I wouldn't have to run wire everywhere I wanted audio. I finally had that dream realized with the Sonos system and now I have to wire them so they can be controlled by automation. I do have a Boost plugged into my router, but I cannot seem to auto detect the Sonos devices to control them. Does the demo version (with Kinext Service installed too) support Sonos control?
Hey ATD! When we first wrote the Sonos driver the wireless speakers weren't supported. Now they are and updating the driver is on the list!
Im just checking back on your development of this. When do you expect to have this finished? |

Good news: wireless Sonos is working (I switched my own speaker over to it at home).
Bad news: a few months back Microsoft changed something that is causing all sorts of havoc with their UPnP/SSDP discovery. (Hence the various reports here in the forum of Sonos and WeMo sporadically not working.) So we're in the process of replacing it entirely with home grown code, which has the added benefit of being portable to Mac, Linux, etc. We're about 70% of the way complete there, and that's actually my current task at hand.
Thanks!

Chris - I see no option to add the Sonos speakers wirelessly. Give us a step by step. |

Has there been any progress in creating a COMPLETE list of commands for CastleOS ? There are many undocumented commands that you have mentioned in other posts, but really Chris - this is tedious. |
